Courtyard Apocalypse (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2)-Alexandre Desplat / Arr. Filippo Fiorini

🎹 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
Courtyard Apocalypse is built around two polyphonic themes that interlock and repeat in a relentless, growing climax. In crafting this solo piano transcription, my goal was to render the orchestral score as faithfully as possible in the right hand, while the left hand takes charge of the rhythmic drive, translating the powerful percussion of the original composition onto the keyboard.

Having to manage and voice three independent lines in a single hand while maintaining the entire rhythmic accompaniment in the left hand places this arrangement solidly at an intermediate to advanced level. It is a rewarding technical and musical study in polyphonic control, dynamic building, and orchestral piano playing.
